    June is a month filled with high school graduation ceremonies. Youth Radio's Chandra Touch, a graduating senior from Portland, Maine and a first generation American, will be the first person in her family to earn her high school degree. There are many things about Chandra's Cambodian-American lifestyle that her mother does not understand. Cheerleading has always been one of those things, but as Chandra looks forward to the next chapter of her life, she is realizing that her very American ambitions are also foreign to her mom. Youth Radio brings her story.

The man loves cashews, but aside from that he makes absurdly fun music by laying down a drum-machine beat, a sequenced keyboard melody, and some punk power chords. br / In "Death Hill" the guitar chords chug as much as drums, which takes me back to the mid-nineties when bands like Green Day and NOFX topped the charts and I romped around the friendly all-ages punk shows for bands like The Queers. Totally Michael makes a similar burst of pop-punk, happycore, funcore, dancecore, cashewcore, or what every you want to call it. Normally, I avoid films based on King's books like the plague, but this one has John Cusack and Samuel L. "Muthafuckin'" Jackson and a 83 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So it's got that going for it, which is nice. At any rate, I figure I'd post some songs with "14" "8" or "1" and "4" in the title, both to tie into the film and in tribute to Cusack, seeing as he was master listmaker in "High Fidelity."
